Christian Brothers
Nick McCormick led off the bottom of the inning with a single and then reached second when the ball got by the left fielder. McCormick later scored on a single by Michael Nelsen to cut the Falcons lead in half. Hensley, however, got the next two batters out to end the inning.
Vista vs Folsom
All three of Vista’s runs came in the second inning. Michael Nelsen led off with a single to left field and Evan Swartz was then hit by a pitch from Vance Armstrong to put two runners on. Nelsen came into score on Brooks Mitchell’s single up the middle for the first run. After a groundout by Jonathan Stewart moved the runners up to second and third, Ignacio doubled to left field to knock in both runners to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
El Camino
Vista’s number-three through eight hitters; Cole Stone, Michael Nelsen, Evan Swartz, Brooks Mitchell, Jonathan Stewart and Brenden Hall, all had two hits. Nelsen hit a home run and drove in two runs, while Stone led the team with three runs batted in. Swartz also knocked in two, while Brent Schaeffer, Nelsen, Stewart and Hall each scored two runs.
“Nick did a nice job, and Michael’s home run helped us. Gabe also did really well on the mound.”
